Camera Tests

Check webcam resolution, FPS, and focus.

Why Test Your Webcam Online?

A quick webcam test before a video call can save you from embarrassing technical problems. Issues like blurry video, low frame rates, incorrect camera selection, and poor lighting are common but easy to catch in advance. Testing in your browser takes just a few seconds and requires no software installation.

DeviceKit camera tests run entirely in your browser using the standard MediaDevices API. Your camera feed is processed locally on your device and is never recorded, uploaded, or stored on any server. You have full control — camera access can be revoked at any time through your browser settings.

What Can You Check?

Use the webcam test to verify your camera produces a clear image at the expected resolution. The FPS test measures your camera's real frame rate — important for smooth video on Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, and other conferencing platforms. Most webcams should deliver at least 720p at 30 FPS for acceptable video quality. Higher-end cameras can reach 1080p at 60 FPS.

If your webcam appears dark, grainy, or choppy, try improving your lighting, cleaning the lens, or checking your operating system's camera privacy settings. Some laptops throttle webcam quality when running on battery power.
